Although with clean simple lines, every piece of furniture at Robin Wade Furniture is log furniture. Most furniture makers start with lumber when building a piece of furniture. We start with the log or tree. The bulk of the logs and trees are sourced locally, within a 50 mile radius of our studio. With an in house sawmill, typically we cut through the log, with the natural of shape of the tree remaining. Next we remove the bark with a draw knife (by hand) and stack to air dry, before it goes into the kiln. Although sometimes consiered modern, every piece of furniture we make is from a locally sourced log;
