Our bedroom furniture can be made from locally sourced hardwoods of solid walnut, cherry, oak and maple. We prefer to leave the edges of the timbers natural. To obtain this natural aesthetic, we start, usually years before the piece is complete. From the tree or log, we "flitch" cut it into natural edge lumber. We immediately removed the bark from the lumber by hand with a draw knive. From here the lumber is stacked to dry naturally, before it's ready for the final cure in the kiln.
