My market research has revealed some, quite unbelievable results. I know this chair is one of the least comfortable (anyone) has ever made. (Possibly with the exception of some torture chamber chair somewhere). But, several of these guys, with a camera in their face, seem to honestly think it is!

One of the nicest compliments paid to this little "sofa" was that it's "better than sitting on the floor". -- Honestly, I'm not so sure. . . Like most of my designs, this line of seating had a higher priority on aesthetics than comfort. I'm really surprised anyone "really" thinks it's comfy.

I was honored to share the gallery showing with the renouned folk artist Charlie Lucas. He was nice enough to find a few kinds words for this "sofa".

My nature has been to allow the beauty of the organic grain reveal itself as is - without stain paint or color treatment. We have lightly stained areas using a propane torch with some success. For this project we were looking for more, and it worked out quite well.

Visitors seemed to have enjoyed their tour of the studio this afternoon. A craftsman from Italy and a Psychologist from San Francisco - who met just moved to the States from Venezuela seem to LOVE Florence Alabama AND Robin Wade Furniture. Obviously these guys are brilliant!
